Star Fundraiser Paul Secures £500 Workplace Grant

Over one hundred kilometres down with at least 90 more to go and you might think that Paul Maunoury would be finished with fundraising for a little while.
But you’d be wrong.

Paul is an IT engineer from Hull, who is in his fourth year of fundraising for Yorkshire Cancer Research and has taken part in ten 10K races so far this year as well as signing up to a further seven races, finishing off his year of running with the Great North Run.
But in spite of all these incredible efforts (and incredibly aching legs!), Paul has proved he still has plenty energy left in him by applying for a special grant from his employers City Health Care Partnership, CIC, whose charity City Health Care Partnership Foundation sponsors colleagues involved in charitable endeavours. Luckily for us, Paul was successful in his application and has been gifted a fantastic £500 to help fund vital work at Yorkshire Cancer Research.
Paul Maunoury
Paul explains his motivations for such incredible fundraising in his own words:
“I lost my dad and mother-in law to this terrible disease, but my best friend and one of my sisters survived which made me feel good … as through my fundraising I feel I’ve contributed in some way”.
At the upcoming Great North Run in September, Paul is hoping to smash his personal best and with determination like Paul’s, we’ve every faith that he’ll achieve what he sets out to do! The money Paul is raising gives us vital funds that will help us tackle cancer in Yorkshire and help us achieve our goal of saving 2,000 more Yorkshire people’s lives each year by 2025. Yorkshire Cancer Research      is dedicated to improving cancer outcomes in Yorkshire by raising awareness of cancer and how to prevent it, promoting screening programmes and funding innovative research, from diagnosis to end-of-life care.
