Xercise4Less Programme Gets Off to a Great Start

We’ve been teaming up with Leeds Rhinos to bring a fun, free and informative exercise rehabilitation programme in an all-female environment to people diagnosed with all forms of cancer to help them improve both physical and mental health following treatment. Being active after treatment has been shown to reduce the risk of cancer reoccurrence as well as boosting general well-being.

The Xcercise4LessLeeds North group has been coaching its 15 members in all things health and fitness since the beginning of April – and we’re hearing great things!

Leeds Rhino player, Sam Hallas, talking to the group about diet, exercise and motivation

From portion control, to overcoming barriers to exercise like fatigue, the Rhinos’ Foundation Health Improvement Staff are expertly coaching our ladies all the way through their 12-week programmes. And on top of this great mentoring, the participants also get the chance to have a go at plenty of different activities including boxercise, circuits, tai chi, Zumba and walking netball – as well as having the chance to meet some of the Leeds Rhinos players themselves.

And if this sounds like something you’d be interested in trying, you’ll be pleased to know that we’ll be running   three more 12-week programmes for other groups – not just for women – as part of our ongoing partnership.

Watch the video below and find out more about this fantastic programme- as well as getting a sneak peak at some daft responses the Rhinos boys came up with when asked a few unexpected questions!
