Why partner with Yorkshire Cancer Research?

Employee engagement

Research shows that engaging employees will leave a more powerful team internally, feeling positive about working for an employer who gives back. Teamwork and communication should increase as well and engaged employees will be inclined to be loyal to a company which supports a local charity that makes a big impact.

Brand association

A brand association with Yorkshire’s very own cancer charity which has been established for over 90 years and achieved ground-breaking work which has saved millions of lives across the world such as funding the foundation research which led to the development of Tamoxifen.

Positive PR

Positive PR will be received online and in print publications across the region and beyond. Our in house PR Officer will write an effective press release and ensure it lands in the inboxes of as many publications as possible.

Helping in the fight against cancer

1 in 3 people in Yorkshire will develop in cancer. Cancer survival rates in Yorkshire are below the national average. 253 lives are lost to cancer in Yorkshire every week.

About Yorkshire Cancer Research?

  • We are dedicated to supporting Yorkshire’s communities. We help local people beat cancer by funding world-class research, diagnosis and treatment in our region, and we share our findings to improve the lives of people everywhere. We are committed to ensuring that Yorkshire remains a centre of excellence, attracting and retaining outstanding scientists and clinicians.
  • There are more than two million people alive in the UK who are living with or have previously had cancer. The 10 year survival rate for cancer is now approaching 50%, double the figure of 30 years ago, and our work has been part of this vital progress and has saved the lives of many people in Yorkshire and around the world.
  • There remains a long way to go. Cancer is still responsible for 1 in 4 of all deaths in the UK, so it’s vital we accelerate our progress in tackling this terrible disease. With your help, we can fund even more research projects and develop more treatments.
