Response to national consultation on HPV self-sampling tests

Yorkshire Cancer Research has responded to the UK National Screening Committee’s proposal to offer self-sampling for HPV testing, as part of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme. A self-sampling test enables women to take a test for HPV themselves, in the privacy of their home.

Yorkshire Cancer Research supports this proposal. The introduction of self-sampling could result in nearly 104,000 additional screens for HPV in Yorkshire over a three-year period. This change in policy would help more people in our region live healthier, longer lives, free from cancer.
