An annual Yorkshire-themed quiz has raised £19,000 for Yorkshire Cancer Research since it first launched in 2006.

The fundraiser, held by Keith Crawshaw who is a member of the charity’s Huddersfield Volunteer Group, has raised an average of £1,250 each year.

Each year, Keith creates a quiz sheet challenging people to solve cryptic clues and anagrams of places, structures, landmarks and events in Yorkshire.

The volunteers give people in the local community the chance to purchase a quiz sheet in August, giving them three months to answer as many of the questions as they can. Completed quiz sheets are then returned to Keith before the winner is announced in November.

“Keith devotes many hours selecting Yorkshire places and landmarks to compose clues for his unique quiz sheet. The amount raised over the years is incredible and will help to fund world leading research in Yorkshire.”
