Fundraising for Yorkshire Cancer Research is a piece of cake for Jean content
Fundraising for Yorkshire Cancer Research is a piece of cake for Jean Boothroyd, of Fenay Bridge, Huddersfield.
Jean raised an incredible £1,740 by hosting a coffee morning by Zoom, on May 22nd.
A dedicated Yorkshire Cancer Research supporter, Jean started fundraising for the charity in May 2016, hosting an annual coffee morning at her home. The successful events have now raised more than £5,740 for the charity.
This year, undeterred by COVID-19 restrictions, she hosted her first coffee morning via Zoom.
Jean said: “A huge thank you to my family, friends and everyone at Almondbury Methodist Church for their support and generosity. We are delighted to have raised our best-ever amount for Yorkshire Cancer Research.”
Jane Dutton, Chairman of the Huddersfield Volunteer Group, Yorkshire Cancer Research, said: “Yorkshire Cancer Research would like to thank Jean, her supporters and friends at Almondbury Methodist Church. The money raised will help support pioneering research that improves the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of cancer in Yorkshire.”
