Yorkshire Cancer Research to open new shop in Skipton content
Yorkshire Cancer Research has announced the opening of a new shop in the heart of Skipton.
Due to open in spring 2023, it will form part of the charity’s ambitious plans to see its name on every high street in the region.
Dr Kathryn Scott, Chief Executive at Yorkshire Cancer Research, said:
“Our shops are so important in helping to support world-leading research in Yorkshire. The opening of our new shop in Skipton means we can increase awareness of our work while raising much needed funds so more people survive cancer.
“The shop will not only help provide vital funds for the charity, but also offer the community in Skipton important volunteering opportunities, as well as the chance to sustainably dispose of unwanted belongings and buy excellent pre-loved items.”
The shop will stock a variety of high-quality goods including ladies’, men’s and children’s fashion, books, homeware and furniture.
The shop will be the seventh in the charity’s retail network, joining others in Knaresborough, Ripon, Harrogate, Northallerton, Leeds, and Pickering.
Located in Craven Court Shopping Centre, which was originally developed and expanded from a 16th Century theatre, the shop will be supported by a team of volunteers.
Yorkshire Cancer Research is inviting potential volunteers in Skipton to register their interest in supporting world-leading research in Yorkshire.
