No matter what age you decide to quit, some of the harm smoking causes to your health will start to reverse immediately. You're three times as likely to quit with support from your local stop smoking service than by using will power alone 1.

Yorkshire Smokefree Service - The Yorkshire Smokefree Service is a great starting point if you're looking to quit in South and West Yorkshire. Check out their site for stop smoking clinics you can visit for support including locations in Barnsley, Calderdale, Doncaster, Sheffield and Wakefield. Alternatively, if you’re based in the Leeds area please visit One You Leeds.

Smokefree Hull - This East Yorkshire based service allows you to get in touch by text or phone. You'll then be linked up with a friendly, confidential service from one of four Smokefree teams across Hull. They also have a complementary Quitpal app to help you along the way.

Living Well North Yorkshire - If you're based in North Yorkshire, you could try out the Living Well Smokefree Team provided by North Yorkshire County Council. Take a look at their page for more info on community-based locations across the area that provide stop smoking support. This service is happy to see anyone age 12 and above and a member of the team can visit you in your own home if your mobility is limited. This service will link you up with a dedicated Stop Smoking Consultant who you'll see at your weekly one-to-one sessions, as well as providing you with a nicotine replacement product supply to help you on your journey.

Stoptober - Looking for that extra push? Join Stoptober and stay smokefree for the whole of October along with thousands of others in the same boat as you. Research shows that you're five times more likely to quit if you manage the whole 28 days of Stoptober without caving.

Breathe 2025 -  Looking for motivation? Make a pledge with Breathe 2025 to stop smoking for good and inspire the next generation to remain smokefree. Data examined by Breathe 2025 reveals that if a young person does not start smoking by age 26, they almost certainly never will in the future. They want to encourage people to help them achieve their vision of a smokefree generation by 2025

NHS Smokefree - This website is your one-stop shop for all things quitting smoking related. There’s an option to create your own free personal quit plan tailored to your needs. You can also use this site to link up with more local stop smoking services, as well as to understand what types of nicotine replacement products you can get on prescription through the NHS and how to go about this.
