A soft toy tombola has raised £250 to help fund life-saving research in Yorkshire.
Yorkshire Cancer Research’s Huddersfield Volunteer Group held their annual tombola, made up of 200 soft toys, at Beaumont Park Gala on Sunday, 31st July.
The fundraiser was overseen by Margaret Porter, who has been a member of the Huddersfield Volunteer Group for more than 30 years.
Margaret has managed the collection, storage, and naming of thousands of soft toys for more than 20 years.
Jane Dutton, Chair of the Huddersfield Volunteer Group, said: “Our Soft Toy Tombola is always a popular fundraiser, and has raised an incredible £2,948 over the past 11 years.
“New and pre-loved toys in good condition are kindly donated by family, friends and local businesses and we are grateful for their support.
“The money raised will help prevent, diagnose and treat cancer in Yorkshire.”
