Richmond is set to welcome a new charity shop which will help raise funds for life-saving cancer research.

Due to open at the end of May, the Yorkshire Cancer Research shop will be the charity’s 10th in the region and forms part of an ambitious target to have a shop on every high street in Yorkshire.

The shop is expected to raise £120,000 for pioneering research in its first year.

Located in the town’s bustling marketplace, opposite the Richmond Obelisk, the shop will stock a curated selection of ladies’, men’s and children’s fashion, homeware, and books.

Yorkshire Cancer Research is inviting anyone interested in volunteering in the new shop to register their interest.

Yorkshire Cancer Research’s shops play a vital role in helping to raise funds for pioneering cancer research and services in the region, and opening a new shop in the heart of Richmond will help continue this vital work.

“By donating pre-loved items, shopping and volunteering in the new shop, people in Richmond can help ensure more people in Yorkshire live longer healthier lives, free of cancer.”
