The Yorkshire Lung Screening Trial: Biomarker study content
Detecting lung cancer through screening saves lives.
The Yorkshire Lung Screening Trial (YLST) will test community-based lung cancer screening in mobile vans across Leeds to work out who would most benefit from screening.
The aim is to maximise this valuable opportunity by taking a blood sample when people attend the mobile vans for their scan to look for signs of lung cancer and address the following important questions:
- Can a blood test more accurately determine who should have a scan?
- Can a blood test be used to detect lung cancer earlier?
- Can a blood test improve the performance of scans?
